Flexopecten felipponei (Dall, 1922)
A glorious group showing the very best of the species including the much sought after purple colour variations. To me it seems barbaric to think that these were probably served as a dish to go with paella, that was of course many years ago when they were still abundant and comercially fished. Next to impossible to get them nowadays and a reminder for all of us to appreciate nature when abundant and easily available.
