Argopecten purpuratus (Lamarck, 1818)

I was very fortunate to obtain this gorgeous 100mm specimen from a diver friend of mine who was not easily persuaded to part with it; the orange colour in this specimen is absolutely stunning, most brilliant tangerine and absolutely flawless, one of the glories of my collection and a perfect match for a group of normal mauve to purple colourd specimens (I will publish some of them seperately).
